In connection with continuous optimization of the security around GolfBox, changes has now been made to the way in which administrators can handle player passwords and how players receive notification of forgotten password.
Where administrators previously could enter a specific password for a player, then it is no longer possible. Now it is only possible for administrators to send a link to the player's email address that the player can use to enter a new password.
Similarly, players are no longer sent an email with the specific password if they use the FORGET PASSWORD function in various places. Instead, a mail is sent with a link that the player can follow to enter a new password.
If a player has been locked in his account due to too many incorrect login attempts, the account will remain locked for 60 minutes. However, an email is now sent to the player with a link that the player can use and, in this way, get the account opened before the 60 minutes have passed.
The change in the handling of passwords places more demands on players' e-mail address being correctly registered in GolfBox.
If a player does not have an e-mail address and needs help to create a new password, then the administrator must put the club's e-mail address in the player and then follow the link in the e-mail that is sent.
