Our customers are asking for more concrete information about what actions we are taking and more than just “we are working on the matter”.
While that is true you can be absolutely sure that with us it is "all man on deck" including external expert help, a more in-depth explanation may be needed, although as a result it also becomes a bit technical and more detailed.
In general, server problems are due to GolfBox being used far more this season than we have seen ever before. Only a small part can actually be attributed to new customers and new functionality.
For many years, we have become accustomed to good overcapacity for even the heavy processes, but this season we encounter so much traffic across all functions that our servers suffer from this.
Since the start of the season, we have expanded and purchased more capacity on our servers so today they are fully maximized with CPU cores and RAM.
We have identified a number of processes since the start of the season that are really heavy for our servers and have worked diligently to code them to make them faster.
In addition, we have purchased an additional server that is being installed and right now we are working on isolating the heaviest parts of web traffic to this new server so that we can create the necessary air for the remaining traffic on the current servers.
It has been suggested from different sides to disconnect parts or whole areas so power could be released to perform the basic tasks, but this will not solve the problem, as the cause of server problems lies in the execution of the core tasks we must solve.
We have believed on several occasions that we have gotten everything handled and under control, but unfortunately, we have been disappointed more times than once.
We will be the first to regret the situation, but you must know that we have all the experts we should have on the matter and that work is being done around the clock to solve the big problems that it entails for you, our clients.
